The Haunting At Paradise House by Killian Wolf

The Haunting at Paradise House

🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via the author and Rachel's Random Resources. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

There's only one thing Addison needs right now... a job! She is a trained nurse with her resume submitted to all the hospitals and care centers. Finally she gets a call for a job from a man who claims he found her resume online and needs her to take care of his father, the only catch is that she has to live there. Despite being a little skeptical Addison ends up taking the job. Weird things start to happen that has Addison poking around in places she isn't supposed to be poking around in. When the truth finally starts to come out things take a turn for the dangerous rather quickly. Now Addison and her new friends have to put things in order and fix mistakes of the past.

I thought The Haunting At Paradise House was a pretty interesting read. What I liked most about this book was that it had such a creepy element. It's one of those stories where at certain parts it feels like something is about to jump out of the book at you, which of course makes it perfect for a spooky October read. It's also a fast read so that's a bonus.

The characters were charming and easy to like. They all seemed to fit together well. Addison is our main character, she is an easy going girl with a slight coffee problem. She proves herself to be a loyal friend when the situation becomes dangerous and her life is at stake but she refuses to leave her new friends. They are in the middle of a dire situation and Addison is determined to get to the bottom of it no matter what happens in the process.

Was the book perfect? No, it had it's flaws but it's good qualities more than made up for them. There were certain parts that were predictable but overall it was interesting and enjoyable. If you enjoy big spells, big secrets and forbidden love then this is something I think you would enjoy. I would absolutely read more by this author and can't wait to see what she comes out with next.

Synopsis:

If you were given the chance to become a powerful sorceress, would you leave behind everything you thought you knew?

When Addison is offered the position of her dreams through a mysterious phone call, she rises to the occasion and moves to the Florida Keys to a mansion called Paradise House.

Footsteps from playful ghosts, a room of killer dolls, and an all too intelligent owl lead her to the mysteries that lie within the walls, to reveal the true reason behind her invitation. When dark forces get a hold of her and her patient, Addison is left with no choice but to take extreme measures to protect the ones she loves.

Will Addison be able to acquire the necessary skills fast enough in order to protect her patient, and defeat the evil entities that thrive in the mansion?
